Monday 28 June - New online portal opened by Scottish Government for patients to register for covid vaccination.  Please see coronavirus section of website for information

We receive a large number of patient urine samples which all require processing at the Practice prior to being sent to the Lab for further testing, if this is relevant.  Many of these samples have no detail about who requested them or why they are being requested.  Please only hand in a urine sample if this has been requested by a GP/Nurse.

If you have UTI or other symptoms, this should be discussed with a Pharmacist or GP who will then ask for a sample if required.

Any sample not specifically requested will be discarded.

In order to ensure our process is efficient for both patients and staff our process is as follows:

After 3.00pm – We will be unable to accept samples, in a white topped bottle, after 3.00pm as they cannot be kept overnight/over the weekend and would need to be repeated.

Before 3.00pm – We will be unable to accept samples which have not been requested by one of the Practice GPs unless they are labelled and bagged correctly.

Thank you for your understanding
