Noticeboard

Please provide the practice with your most up to date mobile phone number.  We plan to use this to send you appointments reminders and provide you with health information, including sending results by text.   We need your consent to do this.  When you are next at the surgery please advise reception if you are happy for this to take place.  Please note, it is your responsibility to let the practice know if you change any of your contact details.

DO YOU TAKE GABAPENTIN/PREGABALIN?

From 1 April 2019 the law changed and gabapentin/pregabalin are now classed as controlled drugs.  The timeframe for ordering your prescription has changed as have some rules on how the Practice can prescribe.  Please see the important information below.

1.  A maximum of 30 days' supply is allowed to be supplied on prescription, so your quantity on prescription may have been reduced.

2.  If you are taking gabapentin/pregabalin regularly as prescribed, you will need to request a prescription every 28-30 days.

3.  Prescriptions might not be issued more frequently than every 30 days.

4.  Lost prescriptions will not be replaced.

WHO IS FLORENCE?

Do you have high blood pressure? FLORENCE has been designed to enable patients to increase their involvement in the management of their treatment, condition or lifestyle. Clinical staff use Florence to collect blood pressure readings or symptom information remotely from patients in relation to their healthcare needs. In return Florence sends health advice based on the readings, as agreed with their clinician. Florence can also alert clinicians if a patient's condition worsens to allow them to intervene appropriately. Florence can also send reminders and health tips to support engagement and compliance with health or lifestyle advice.

TELEPHONE CALLBACKS FROM A PARTICULAR GP

If you require a non-urgent call back from a particular GP you will receive this within 1 week.  The reason for this timescale is that GPs all work different hours and are not always available immediately.   They want to make sure they have enough time to deal with your query fully. 

Should your query be urgent or become more urgent whilst you wait for your call back the Duty Doctor will be able to deal with it on a day to day basis.
